Healthy Chocolate Smoothie

Healthy Chocolate Smoothie (inspired by recipe in Against All Grains cookbook)



  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup unsweetened hemp, coconut, or almond milk
  • 1 banana
  • 2 pitted dates or 1 tablespoon of raw honey
  • 1/2 avocado
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened sunflower seed butter or almond butter
  • 1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds
  • 1 tablespoon of coconut oil
  • 1/2 cup of ice
  • handful of spinach or other greens (optional)


Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Add less water if you like it thicker. Serves 1-2.
