How to Boost Your Immune System

I hope you have been enjoying the weather (minus the buckets of rain we just got!) as we slip into the heart of the fall. The colors of the leaves are turning- it is so beautiful right now, the temperatures are nice and mild, and the light is changing as the days are getting shorter.

I know that for some of you this is your favorite time of year, and you are absolutely thriving. Yay for you!

Then I know there are some of us out there (ahem… yes, that would include me) who really struggle with the shortening days, and the knowing that the cold days of winter will soon be upon us… Whine, whine…

Whether this is your high or low season, or somewhere in between, it is important to start doing things now to boost your immune system as we head into the cold and flu season. Here are some of the things you can do:

  • Take probiotics to boost your immune system- did you know that at least 70% of our immune system is in our guts?
  • Get your vitamin D levels checked, and start supplementing with it if needed.
  • Keep up with your workout routine, or if you haven’t been moving your body regularly start NOW.
  • Come in for an acupuncture tune up to help you adjust to the season, boost your immune system and de-stress. This time of year it is especially important to take care of yourself and manage your stress levels.
